North Hampshire RC 18m OPen TT - April 2nd
For the second year running, fine weather greeted the participants in the North Hampshire RC 18.5 mile open time trial on the Dummer circuit near Basingstoke.
With a fresh breeze blowing from the South West, the prize for the fastest rider under 40 minutes seemed safe enough. Chris Ball of BioBike RT had other ideas however.
With a ballistic performance, Chris picked up his 2nd win in a week, by completing the sporting course in an excellent time of 39:35. This was over 2 minutes quicker than runner-up John McClelland of Agiskoviner. The final podium place went to the excellent Ray Hughes, 47s back from John.
The women’s race was extremely close fought, with NHRC’s Mandy Hibberd narrowly edging out fellow NHRC rider Jane Morris by a mere 4s. Lucinda Seymour of ScienceInSport finished in 3rd place, 1 minute back from Mandy.
The Vets on Standard competition was won convincingly by John Woodburn with a +12:07. Ray Hughes finished 2nd with a +9:41
